Families First Coronavirus Response Act Signed Into Law

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act, H.R. 6021, passed the House of Representatives on Monday, March 16th, passed the Senate on Wednesday, March 18th, and was subsequently signed into law by President Donald Trump.

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act contains a number of relief measures for businesses and individuals. We will plan to provide updates that impact our clients and business community as the details emerge.

The Coronavirus relief bill includes many provisions, including several tax credits for employers who provide paid sick leave, family leave, or medical leave for their employees who miss work for various coronavirus-related reasons.

An excellent summary of the payroll tax credit that is included in the new legislation was recently posted by the Journal of Accountancy, a publication of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
