New Audit Requirements Under the HHS Provider Relief Fund

COVID Updates, Healthcare

A definitive answer has been provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding the audit requirements for non-federal entities and for-profit entities expending funds under the new Provider Relief Fund (PRF) program.

Please note that entities expending funds under the new Provider Relief Fund program may be subject to an audit requirement. This applies to both for-profit and nonprofit entities.

For detailed information please see the AICPA Governmental Audit Quality Center Alert No. 411 for more information about audit requirements, thresholds and links to additional resources.

Healthcare entities that are subject to an audit requirement under this program may not be accustomed to operating in a federal award/Single Audit environment. You may need some guidance to ensure that you are addressing the federal program requirements at the time funds are being utilized.

Please contact a Jones & Roth Advisor if you need guidance on this issue.
