Bend Venture Conference Awards $620k to Startups

The Startup & Emerging team at Jones & Roth CPAs & Business Advisors were honored to participate in the 12th Annual Bend Venture Conference (BVC). Congratulations to EDCO, the Cascade Angels and all of the other sponsors, volunteers and stakeholders that contributed to this outstanding event. The BVC is quickly becoming one of the top entrepreneurial events in the country. The BVC attracted record attendance, the sold out crowd watched over $620,000 funded to deserving companies in the early and growth stages. Winners of the BVC, LLC, Growth Stage competition Growth Stage finalist, Odysys, which helps hotels drive more direct bookings at a lower cost by allowing hoteliers to connect, manage and track digital marketing efforts with one simple platform, won the conference’s major prize, a $205,000 investment. A secondary investment of $125,000 was awarded to Perfect Company, a Vancouver, Wash., company revolutionizing cooking with a connected scale and interactive recipe solution. The investment arm of the conference, BVC, LLC, awarded the Growth Stage investments following considerable due diligence of each of the five presenting finalists. The investment included $50,000 from Oregon Community Foundation/Meyer Memorial Trust and $75,000 from Oregon Growth Account.“The caliber of the companies pitching this year was outstanding,” said Brian Vierra, Venture Catalyst for EDCO. “Odysys and Perfect Company built on their success from last year and were strong on the stage.
